Before The City's Face Was Botoxed

While we're on the subject of capturing images of the city, past & present, Wayne blogged earlier today about the need to record the views of the waterfront before the vandals moved in & disfigured what is still, though not for much longer, I'd wager, a World Heritage Site (http://liverpoolpreservationtrust.blogspot.com/2009/07/ptolemy-deans-view-on-liverpools.html ).
For what it's worth, here's a few shots I took of the waterfront area a few years back when the monstrosities being built weren't even doodlings on an architect's drawing board.

Those photos look awful. Look how empty and deserted both the Pier Head and the Albert Dock seem.

Now that excellent new buildings like the arena have been built and Liverpool One has reconnected Liverpool's city centre to the waterfront, these areas are full of visitors.

Once the superb museum of Liverpool and Mann Island developments are completed this previously depressing and abandoned part of the city will be even more vibrant.

Build more this this please!
